Jerry Mathers Spreads the Word about Diabetes

Fifty years after Leave It to Beaver introduced Jerry Mathers to American families, the actor is focusing on another role: living healthfully with diabetes.

Meet Jerry

Jerry Mathers grew up in America's living rooms when he starred as ?the Beav? in the iconic family television series Leave It to Beaver. These days, Jerry is educating people about diabetes, a condition he's lived with for the past 10 years.

"I'm very open about having diabetes," he says. "I know a lot of people are embarrassed by it, but diabetes isn't embarrassing. It's something I have, and I'm dealing with it. If other people have diabetes, I want to help them deal with it, too, so they can live longer, healthier lives."

It's great to read a wonderful story from a great man, and someone who is living with T2. I have had for many years and think I am still in denial. I am determined to get this under wraps, but know I will need help.
