to sherrilynne57 - Congratulations!!!! Keep up the good work! I compare diabetes to antibiotics - once you start feeling good, tend not to take entire prescription. With diabetes, it is a constant that one can't be complaicent about. I am also T2. diagnosed 11/2007. My fasting was 283, now A1C hovers between 5.9 & 6.7. No pills, occasional insulin. Only lost 10 pounds, but on other meds that keep some of the blubber on.
8/10/2010 04:25:52 PM Report AbuseI was put on insulin in Feb. my A1c was over 10 the last 3 times. So I decided to clean up my act. I have two diabetic cookbooks from Taste of Home which I fix most of my meals from. I am off insulin, just on pills. Have lost 35 lbs. My A1c is now 6.4. I am relating this because of comments about some of the recipes. These cookbooks are great because they are downhome meals. No special ingredients. Gives all info needed for diabetics for each meal.
7/28/2010 06:18:00 AM Report AbuseI find it hard to find "normal" recipies for people with sugar problems. Not fancy foods but just normal foods for people with not alot of money for groceries. Anyone know of any good sites for that?
6/15/2010 11:01:25 AM Report AbuseThis website is excellent for those PWDs. I am interested in finding out more about the way a diabetic should eat. I find that having diabetes is sometimes difficult and hope that I can get more information on the disease. If you have any information that you feel will be of benefit to me please email me. Listed is my email address: t.m.strevels@gmail.com Thanks and God bless.
6/9/2010 03:13:44 PM Report AbuseYes, sign up for the site and no pop ups people!! Can yah dig it? I wish the magazine would have more than 4 issues a year too, it's better than Diabetes Forecast, more "down to earth" for normal people.
6/8/2010 10:42:54 PM Report AbuseIf you don't like the popups, just subscribe so you can login and the popups will stop. You all want the world for free. This is a great site - it's a great publication. Even non-diabetics LOVE the recipes I make from this site. Great info on being healthy. I bought this so I could cook for my father-in-law after he was diagnosed, but many of the recipes are now family favorites.
6/8/2010 12:26:26 PM Report AbuseHow are people supposed to control their Diabetes if they complain about clicking next or closing pop-up windows? Seriously people, think about that.
6/8/2010 12:18:37 PM Report AbusePopups are so annoying, and its the same one over and over. I also do not like have to click to the next page so many times...why can't you have it on one or two pages....you lose my interest and I won't be reading future articles unless format changes to a more easily accessible page!
6/8/2010 12:12:48 PM Report AbuseThis website has too many click, click, clicks to get to where the info is I am giving up for today. Sorry. Esp. sorry because as a Type II Diabetic looks like your info would be worth reading, if only I could get to it. Bye
6/8/2010 12:01:56 PM Report AbuseThe popups drive me crazy. You asked me to take a survey. I said "no thanks." And then another popup shows up on the screen. This must be the way you pay for your website. One popup is enough. Your website turns me off, and I turn you off.
6/8/2010 10:50:20 AM Report Abusehow good are the grains, bulgur, quoina, barley in a diet? along with flax seed & wheat germ?
4/27/2010 10:04:10 AM Report AbuseI've put on a pedometer since the new year. I don't use it once a week. It's said that 10000 steps a day should be a goal. I only make an average of 8000 steps. I've lost 7 lbs in the new year. If I can do it, so can you!
2/12/2010 10:40:00 AM Report AbuseFor sectioned plates, just go to E-bay and search for sectioned plates.
2/3/2010 11:52:25 AM Report AbuseThere's lots of sectioned plates on the internet... people are always selling them on ebay
1/22/2010 09:05:44 AM Report AbuseEven though I am aware of the different ways to live a healthy life, certain things are sometimes forgotten. This article was a great reminder! For those of you who don't want to carry a food journal around with you all day everyday but have a blackberry, use the MemoPad app and store what you eat daily in there. That's what I do!
1/13/2010 12:18:39 PM Report AbuseThanks for such a great article, I found it to be very helpful! Thank you
1/6/2010 11:10:30 AM Report Abuseplease email me the address where I can obtain the sectioned plate at bsmithk@optonline.net

1/5/2010 02:12:40 PM Report AbuseIn your "10 Ways to Loose 5 Pounds" you display a plate sectioned out with the "right portions" to eat. I would like to know where you obtained this plate. Please email me at: audrey.vance08@gmail.com Thank You
