The good news: High cholesterol is treatable
The first course of action to reduce high LDL (bad) cholesterol is two-fold:
eating fewer high-fat meats, eggs, and dairy products
getting physical activity every day
Even with a healthful lifestyle, however, cholesterol levels can remain high. For high cholesterol that won't decrease with diet and exercise, doctors call on a group of drugs called statins.
