Successfully Manage Type 2 Diabetes

Newly Diagnosed: Managing Type 2 Diabetes

Education can go a long way toward easing the stress of a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Knowing how to eat, exercise, and monitor your glucose levels are the first steps in understanding what type 2 diabetes means for you. Sticking to the basics will put you in control of your diabetes.

Take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes, accounting for 90-95 percent of people living with diabetes. If you consider the family and friends of all those diagnosed, you have a wealth of support available from people directly or indirectly affected by the disease. Plus, ongoing research continues to find new ways to improve the lives of those with diabetes and even to find a cure.
