When a Diagnosis Means Relief

Some people we talked to were relieved to be diagnosed with diabetes because it meant there was a reason they were experiencing such strange symptoms.

If you or someone you know experiences the symptoms of type 2 diabetes, contact your health-care provider. Symptoms include:

increased thirst
increased hunger
weight loss
blurred vision
fatigue
frequent urination, particularly at night
frequent infections and/or slow-healing cuts or sores

I can't get in to see Endocrine until March, so I'm going to ask my PCP to run another HGB A1c as well as fasting bld sugar, Glucose tolerance, and whatever else he can think of. My Grandfather has ins dep DM and died blind and with a BTK amp. That won't be me. -Michelle, 47 yo - Tucson AZ
